Minutes: Were read and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: We have $3,502.30 in the CD
and $35,146.40 in the checking account for total of $38,648.70.
Publicity: No report
NCGA: No report
Membership: Ralph
noted that we’re getting about 3-4 sign-ups per week but that we’re still about
10-15% below our normal membership total.
Tournaments: The NCGA Net Amateur is the next tournament on the schedule. Vic and
Gary are working the tournament, which has a full field.
It was reported that the
last tournament went off well. The scratch flight had 8 participants. A
suggestion was made to consider having a scratch flight in the Club
Championship. The next tournament to have one is the Directors’ Cup at the end
of the month.
Old Business: The
proposal from the new clubhouse folks for our Shotgun tournament was discussed.
They had opened negotiations with a charge of $20.95 per head, which was
rejected initially. They in turn came back with an altered menu (ribs, chicken
and salad) for roughly the same amount that we spent last year, if we included
the table and chair rental. After discussion, a motion to proceed with the new
arrangement was passed. Vic will iron out the details.
New Business: Steve suggested that we
start soon to discuss the format, scheduling, etc surrounding next year’s Club
Championship, since it continues to draw less and less interest from the
membership. It was decided to poll the membership on the aspects of the
tournament in it’s present form, both with a written
survey to be passed out at the next tournament and one based on the web site.
