Meeting 04/07/07

Present: George Elbert, John Christenson, Gary Davis, Jim Gordon, Mike Duggan, Steve Pasadis, Jeff Goering, Dave Marquez, Bob Andrews & Tony Conrardy

Absent: Ralph Thomas, Vic Shellenberg & Wayne Thompson

Call to Order: 7:00 AM by Steve

Minutes: Were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: We have $3,502.30 in the CD and $41,688.70 in the checking account for total of $45,191.00. George said that we had been given our yearly editions of the Rules of Golf and Decisions on Golf by the USGA. The Board also authorized George to open a credit card account for the Club for use in the future in dealings with the NCGA.

Publicity: Steve mentioned that the website gets a healthy number of hits (450+/-) around each tournament and some of the visitors proceed into other areas of the site.

NCGA: Bob reported that one of our members had been taken off of the restricted handicap list but that another had been put on it.

Membership: No report.

Tournaments: The NCGA 2 Man Best Ball is the next tournament. Tony and Jim will be working it. The tee times will run from 7:30 to 12:22. As usual with NCGA events, the maximum handicap will be 18, with players below that using 90% of their course handicaps from the white tees. Seniors will have to know their partners before teeing off since there will be no blind draws. There was some discussion regarding using the blue tees for this tournament, thereby giving the more accomplished golfers a better chance to move onto the next round. It was decided by consensus to continue with the NCGA tradition of using the whites.

Due to lack of interest, the ESPN tournament will not be held in conjunction with this tournament.
