Meeting 08/05/06

Absent: Tony Conrardy, George Elbert & Dave Marquez

Call to Order: 7:05 AM by Vic

Minutes: Were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: We have $3,449.39 in the CD and $30,851.14 in the checking account for a total of $34,300.53.

Publicity: There was no report.

NCGA: Bob reported that there will be an increase in fees from the NCGA as of next year. The Board voted to pass on this increase only to the membership.

Membership: We have many.

Tournaments: There are 124 players signed up for the Shotgun Tournament. The Board authorized Jeff Bodwin to prepare meals for 135. The tee time is 7:00 AM. Ga ry has made out the scorecards and stapled ½ the tickets onto them. The other ½ will go into the hat for the drawings. There will be 20 prizes worth $50 each. The Board agreed to provide sodas and water along with the range balls for the membership. All the members have to do is give the scorers their group handicaps and the spreadsheet will take it from there. As always, threesomes will rotate the 4^th shot. Gary noted that 2 players who have signed up will not be allowed to play due to unpaid fines.

Next year’s tournament list was passed out with the 5 tournaments already designated to have scratch flights noted. The motion was made and seconded that the Board will give this a 2 year trial with the hope that this will attract lower handicapped players. The motion passed.

Old Business: The topic of guest invitees was tabled for future consideration.

New Business: Steve reminded the Board (surprise!) of elections. He will post the notice on the website and also will research who is up for re-election.
